Travel days, work breaks where you can't bring a shaker, gym bags for post-workout, hotel stays, road trips, and any time the alternative is skipping protein. The premium you pay buys you predictability — no measuring, no mixing, no cleanup.
RTDs are also genuinely useful if you have a hard time tolerating powder protein. Some pre-made shakes use different protein sources or processing methods that sit better in your stomach.
If you're drinking protein at home and have a shaker bottle, powder costs you about a third of what an RTD does for the same protein hit. Over a month of daily protein shakes, the math works out to $50-100 in savings vs the RTD route.
